Ndayisaba, a beekeeper from the central African republic of Rwanda, has taken care of bees since he was a child, but gained notoriety after a series of photos appeared on social media showing him with thousands of bees on his body.

Ndayisaba explains: “To control the bees, I must first look for the queen bee. Then I put the queen on my body to attract other bees.” The experienced beekeeper said he takes the queen bee and ties her with a string around his waist.

The other bees naturally follow and protect their queen, flying to the male and forming a shield around her to keep him safe.

“I have a lot of experience in beekeeping, bees never sting me. People are not bothered by it. On the contrary, it makes them happy and they want me to teach them. They are not afraid, they want to learn different ways and tactics to become capable of keeping bees themselves”, said Ndayisaba.

He says that apart from the popularity he has gained in his community, his unusual skill has helped him earn a good living by selling honey.
